Tobacco Prevention Brochure

Commissioned by the Wichita Falls Health District, this bilingual design project focused on creating a culturally responsive tobacco prevention campaign tailored for Spanish- and English-speaking communities. The centerpiece was a dual-language brochure designed to feel accessible and impactful across diverse audiences. I led the copywriting in English, grounding the messaging in plain language, positive reinforcement, and action-oriented phrasing. From there, I translated and adapted the content into Spanish—prioritizing intent, clarity, and resonance, rather than direct word-for-word translation. Each element, from the "Comienza Aquí" (“Start Here”) callout to the visual metaphor of a torn cigarette, was designed with UX principles in mind: easy to understand, engaging to navigate, and community-driven in tone. The campaign was part of a larger prevention initiative, and early results showed a 20% increase in social engagement with Spanish-language content. By pairing thoughtful design with bilingual strategy, this project demonstrated how accessibility and cultural fluency can directly support public health goals.
